Pricing & Plans

How does Greenvelope pricing work?

Greenvelope uses per-person pricing for single mailings. You pay simply based on the size of your guest list and get full design personalization, RSVP tracking, and event management tools at no extra cost and none of the surprise fees you might find on other platforms. If you send often, we also offer annual memberships that include unlimited mailings, with each mailing capped at a certain number of guests based on the size of the package you choose.

Do I need a subscription to use Greenvelope?

No, a subscription is not required. Greenvelope offers two ways to pay, and most senders never need a recurring plan at all. The first is a one time purchase priced per person for a single mailing, where you pay once for that event and there are no further charges. The second is an annual membership that includes unlimited mailings up to a set number of guests per mailing, which tends to make sense for senders running multiple events a year. If you're sending invitations for one event like a wedding, milestone birthday, or holiday party, the one time purchase is usually the right fit.

Can I try Greenvelope before I buy?

Yes. Our trial lets you test out the entire experience with no credit card required. You can build a real invitation, send it out to up to 10 people, and watch RSVPs come back so you get a feel for the whole experience before deciding whether to upgrade.

What is the Greenvelope refund policy?

If you bought a larger package than you ended up needing, we'll downgrade you to the next smallest size that still fits your guest list and refund the difference. Once your invitation has been sent we can't issue refunds, since the service has already been used. If something unusual comes up, like a duplicate purchase, get in touch with support and we'll sort it out.

What payment methods does Greenvelope accept?

Greenvelope accepts all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payments run through a secure PCI compliant processor, so your card details aren't stored on our own servers. Common digital wallets are also supported at checkout in regions where they're available.

Are there discounts for nonprofits?

Yes. We offer reduced pricing for verified nonprofit organizations. Just send a few details about your organization and event size to support and we'll come back with a custom quote, usually within a business day.

Sending & Delivery

Can I send Greenvelope invitations via SMS or text message?

Yes, as long as the country of the recipient's phone number is on the supported list. Alongside email, Greenvelope supports SMS invitation delivery for any guest where you have a mobile number on file in a supported country. Guests get a text containing a personalized link that opens the same animated envelope and RSVP experience as the email version. For the current list of supported countries and per message pricing, see this Greenvelope help article.

Can I send Greenvelope invitations to international guests?

Yes. Greenvelope delivers to recipients anywhere in the world, and guests can RSVP from any browser without needing to create a Greenvelope account. The invitation experience is fully responsive on the kinds of phones used outside the U.S., so the animated envelope and RSVP form work the same way for international guests as they do domestically.

What happens if a guest's email bounces?

We track delivery status for every invitation, so you can see at a glance which addresses bounced, which were undeliverable, and which simply haven't been opened yet. From your dashboard you can correct the email address and resend, or switch that guest to SMS delivery if you have a phone number for them. The whole point is to make sure every guest actually receives their invitation.

How quickly are invitations delivered after I press send?

Most invitations land in guests' inboxes within seconds of pressing send. Delivery can run a touch slower for some recipients (large corporate or institutional inboxes sometimes apply extra filtering), but the vast majority of sends complete in well under a minute. Your dashboard updates delivery status in real time so you can watch it happen.

Can I schedule invitations to send at a specific time?

Yes. You can choose to send right away or schedule your invitation to go out at a specific date and time. That's useful for coordinating with a save the date or hitting your guests' inboxes at peak open hours. Scheduled sends can be edited or canceled any time before they go out.

RSVP & Guest Management

How do I track RSVPs in Greenvelope?

Every Greenvelope event includes a live RSVP dashboard that shows who has responded yes or no, along with their guest count, meal selections, and answers to any custom questions you've added. You can sort, filter, and search the list, and you'll get an email or in app notification each time a guest responds.

Do guests need to create a Greenvelope account to RSVP?

No, guests never need to create a Greenvelope account to RSVP. When a guest gets your invitation by email or SMS, they tap the personalized link in their message and land directly on the invitation. From there they can view the animated envelope, see all the event details, and submit their RSVP in just a few taps, with no signup, password, or app install required. The lower the friction for guests, the higher your response rate, which is why this is the default experience for every Greenvelope event.

Can I export my guest list and RSVPs?

Yes. Your full guest list, including contact info, RSVP status, plus ones, meal selections, and custom question responses, can be exported as a CSV or Excel file at any time. That makes it easy to share head counts with your caterer or venue. Greenvelope also includes a built in seating chart tool, so you don't need to send your guest list to a separate product to arrange tables, manage assignments, or print place cards.

Can guests update their RSVP after submitting it?

It depends on the event. There's a setting that controls whether a guest can come back and update their RSVP after submitting it. If that setting is enabled, the guest can return to their invitation link any time before the RSVP deadline and change their response, guest count, or meal choice, and the update appears in your dashboard right away. If the setting is disabled, the host can still manually update any guest's RSVP from the Track page in their event dashboard.

Can I collect meal choices, dietary restrictions, or other custom information from guests?

Yes. You can add custom RSVP questions in any format you need: multiple choice, free response, dropdowns, yes or no. Use them for meal preferences, dietary restrictions, song requests, accommodation details, or anything else relevant to your event. All responses are tracked in your dashboard and included in CSV exports.

How do I send reminders to guests who haven't RSVP'd?

From your dashboard you can send a reminder to all guests who haven't responded yet, with a single click, and the reminder includes a personalized link back to the invitation. You can also schedule reminders in advance (for example, one week before the RSVP deadline) and customize the wording for each one. For step by step setup, see this Greenvelope help article.

Design & Customization

Can I upload my own design to Greenvelope?

Yes. Beyond the curated design library, Greenvelope lets you upload your own artwork, whether that's a custom illustration, a hand lettered piece from your stationer, or a fully designed invitation file. The uploaded design is wrapped in the same animated envelope experience, so you still get the envelope reveal, RSVP tracking, and guest management.

What file types are supported for custom designs and uploads?

Greenvelope supports JPG and PNG for custom invitation artwork, and PDF for high resolution designs from professional stationers. Recommended dimensions and resolution guidance live inside the upload tool itself, so your design comes out crisp on every screen size, from phones to large desktop monitors.

Can I add a video to my Greenvelope invitation?

Yes. You can embed video right into your invitation, including hosted video from services like YouTube and Vimeo, plus direct uploads of short video files. The video plays inline within the invitation experience, which makes it a nice fit for save the dates with a personal message, proposal videos, or branded event teasers.

Can I customize wording, fonts, and photos on my invitation?

Yes. Every Greenvelope design supports editing of wording, fonts, and adding photos directly in the browser, with no separate software required. Your changes preview live, so you see exactly what your guests will see, and you can switch between design templates without losing your guest list or event settings.

Can I add background music to my Greenvelope invitation?

Yes. Greenvelope is one of the few digital invitation platforms that allows you to add background music, and you can use any track you like by uploading your own MP3.

Can I preview my invitation before sending it?

Yes, and we recommend it. At any point while you're designing your invitation, you can send yourself a preview to see exactly what your guests will see, including the animated envelope opening, the invitation itself, the RSVP form, and any background music or video you've added. You can preview as many times as you like before you send to your actual guest list, and you can also send the preview to a friend or partner if you'd like a second set of eyes before going live.

Account & Billing

How do I cancel my Greenvelope plan?

If you bought a single mailing, there is nothing to cancel. It was a one time purchase, and there are no recurring charges. If you have an annual membership, you just need to make sure auto renewal is turned off from your billing page, and your membership will simply not renew at the end of the term.

How do I update my payment method?

Payment details are entered fresh at checkout for every single mailing, so for one time purchases there is no stored card to keep up to date. For annual memberships, you can update the card on file from your billing page, and that is also where you control auto renewal.

Can I pause my Greenvelope account?

For single mailings there is nothing to pause. Greenvelope doesn't charge anything between events, so your account just sits there until you're ready for your next one. For annual memberships, the way to pause is to turn off auto renewal from your billing page, then renew whenever you're ready for another year.

How do I delete my Greenvelope account and the data associated with it?

Account deletion is handled by emailing the Greenvelope support team. Once deletion is processed, your designs, guest lists, RSVP responses, and personal information are permanently removed in line with the Greenvelope Privacy Policy. If you'd like to keep copies of your data first, you can export your guest lists and download invitation previews before sending the request.

If I cancel my account, will my designs and past events be saved?

Past events and designs stay in your account for as long as your account is active. Greenvelope doesn't automatically delete completed events. If you specifically request account deletion, those designs and that event history are removed as part of the process, so it's worth exporting your guest lists and saving any invitation previews you want to keep before you delete.

Technical

What browsers does Greenvelope support?

Greenvelope works in the latest versions of all major modern browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on both desktop and mobile devices. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the smoothest editing experience. Older or unsupported browsers may render the animated envelope with reduced fidelity.

Is there a Greenvelope mobile app?

Yes. There is a Greenvelope mobile app, which works especially well for tracking RSVPs on the go and getting notifications as guests respond. For the actual card design step, we recommend doing that on desktop, since the larger canvas makes it easier to adjust layout, fonts, and colors. The full Greenvelope web experience is also fully responsive, so senders and guests can do everything in their mobile browser if they prefer not to install the app.

A guest says they didn't receive my invitation, what should I do?

First, check your dashboard's delivery status to see whether the invitation was delivered, bounced, or is still pending. If the address bounced, you can correct it and resend, or switch that guest over to SMS delivery from their guest record.

Is Greenvelope accessible on phones and tablets?

Yes. The full Greenvelope experience, including design editing, sending, RSVP tracking, and guest management, works on phones and tablets through any modern browser. Guests viewing invitations on mobile see the animated envelope experience optimized for smaller screens, including touch interactions for opening the envelope and submitting their RSVP.

How does Greenvelope protect my data and my guest list?

All data in transit is protected with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and guest information is stored on secure infrastructure with strict access controls. Greenvelope never sells or shares your guest list with third parties, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Full details are available in the Privacy Policy.
